HA! Some jackass did this sometime tonight. If it gets changed before you see it, it says "Kazmir was acquired by the Seattle Mariners on July 29, 2009 in a 3-team trade".
That happened this fall also, but it told me that Jim Mora had been hired as the head football coach at UW.
At this point, it looks like Clement is gone.
If it's a pull for Reid Brignac and Scott Kazmir for Clement and Morrow, I think I'm in favor. Reid Brignac would be awesome and would be one hell of a pull by our GM for a team in need of a SS.
Scott Kazmir scares me. He's been a great pitcher in the past, but he famously "lost his slider" last year. Since then, the K's have dropped and he's become a fly ball pitcher. He never had great control so he still walks guys. Right now, that sounds a lot like Jarrod Washburn with a better fastball. That said, he's still better than Morrow right now.
Jack Z excels at scouting and development. If they think they can fix him, then fuck yeah. He has been hurt, but he pitched decent against the Yankees last night while still giving up 10 fly balls to 5 ground balls and only getting 4 K's. He's under contract through 2011 with a club option for 2012, so we're not exactly taking on another Silva Elephant.
Reid Brignac would be the prize, Scott Kazmir plugs into a rotation which suddenly looks like it could use a shot in the arm. Like I said, he's still better than Morrow, Olson, Vargas, Jakabauskas, et al.
It'll probably be some completely different trade now.
You know, I am starting to hate Jason Vargas less and less. Seeing as how we just unloaded the entire rotation for the Clinton Lumberkings (formerly the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, right?) we may need to start paying more attention to our pitchers. Now I know that Nathan Adcock, Brett Lorin and Aaron Pribanic were far from ready for the majors, but we've got to figure out what we have that's still going to work going forward.
I still feel like Morrow is on the wrong side of the "lost cause" teeter-totter if just barely so. Aumont is a stud, but still a few years away (2011? 2012?). Other than those two, I can name Olson and Vargas and that's about it (for starting pitchers). So if we look at Jason Vargas and call him a serviceable #5 starter, are we really that bad at the major league level?
I wouldn't have bet on it a few weeks ago, but now I have this feeling that he will stay. Just a feeling, nothing tangable. This makes me think that Bedard's pride might play a role in his resigning here. Depending on what we do with Wilson (and Washburn) we should have the money to keep him.
Haha, that makes me not want him back. He hasn't really shown an ability to stay healthy with us.
I dunno, I think we offer him arbitration and see if he walks. I'm not sure the M's want to sink in the money that it would take to keep him. But I have no idea what that guy is thinking, so who knows? At least he seems to be enjoying his time here now.
Yeah, I know. It makes him seem like a bit of a reTard, but at least I know that he wants to win (and win here). I think arbitration for Erik Bedard would be the most fantastic thing ever.

Holy fuck, holy fuck, holy fuck. I've laid off of Jerry Brewer for a while
mostly because I've been bored of it. As per usual, I haven't actually read
this...

Reminiscent of my Wendy's bag, less tasty, but funnier cause I know how long it took you to do the bus ticket.
It would be kind of funny if Wash pitches well for 3 innings, but suddenly we see the bullpen warming up and he just never comes back out for the 4th.
Here is a blogpost
I am not sure where this would go
Thanks for the text Chadly...literally as I was posting this.

Both Cleveland and Tampa Bay say they are not involved in any talk about Jeff Clement. Which, of course, mean precisely dick.

1.) Felix
2.) Bedard (He'll resign)
3.) RR-S
4.) Snell(?)
5.) Vargas
I'm pretty sure Silva is done forever, but we'll see how that shakes out.
I dunno. Thoughts? I know it's a bit of a stretch, but I want to make something positive out of this trade crap.
Sounds good except for the Bedard re-signing part. I'm not sure I see that happening.
